Introduction

The shallow sand filter is composed of one or more standard high speed sand tanks. It is equipped with unique water distributor, water collector and unique automatic washing valve. It can realize multiple standard high speed sand tanks one by one backwashing in the normal system operation process, which is controlled by automatic program. The shallow sand filter has the advantages of small backwashing water consumption, convenient installation and easy operation. The flow of the equipment is large, no maintenance. According to different user requirements, we designed two series: vertical type and horizontal type, which is suitable for water treatment demands in different fields.

Features

Filter tank sizes are available in a variety of sizes, from 24 “(500mm) to 96” (2400mm), and can be installed in different ways. The filter can be connected to the water supply pump in the existing process as an independent filtration system. If it is used as a by-filter, it can also be separately equipped with its own pump. User can also install multiple filter tanks on common pipes so that the system can achieve unlimited filtration capacity. The backwashing of the filter system has three modes: manual, semi-automatic and automatic, which can be started by manual button, PLC, differential pressure or preset time respectively. Backwash cycle and backwash time can be adjusted, set to 3 minutes before delivery. This control is realized by PLC automatic filtration control system.

2. Modular design, covers an area of small, less distribution, less investment. The area is reduced by more than 40%, and the engineering quantity of distribution pipes is reduced by more than 50%.

3. Manual, semi-automatic, automatic backwash are optional, fully meet your demands.

4. Backwash water source can be selected in the system, water tower or external water source, and can be automatically switched (special requirements).

5. Can be multi-tank combination, capacity can be arbitrarily extended.

6. The shell and pipe are made of carbon steel Q235B, or stainless steel.

7. The core components are imported (BERMAD, BACCARA, SIEMEN, MITSUBISHI).

8. The filter tank adopts the single chamber design, the backwash effect is better, the sand running rate is lower.

9. Water collector material is optional (stainless steel or ABS material), longer life.

10. The outlet pipe is set at the bottom of the tank, the water resistance is smaller, more convenient maintenance.

Working Principle

Backwashing status:
With the accumulation of impurities in the packing layer, the loss of internal pressure head will increase. When the loss of inlet and outlet pressure head reaches the set value, the system will automatically activate the pressure differential device to convert it to the backwash state. When the backwash is finished, the hydraulic valve changes the direction of the water supply to realize filter tank’s backwash one by one, which is more convenient to clean the accumulated impurities.
When the system is in the backwash state, filtration still continues. The standard filter tank to be backwashed is not in filtration state, while other standard filter tanks in the system are still in normal filtration state. A part of the filtered clean water is used to backwash the standard filter tank, and the rest of the filtered clean water is sent to the clean water tank. Backwash sewage is discharged through the backwash outlet of the hydraulic valve. In the high speed filter tank’s efficient filtration system, the special water collector design can make the sand rub each other, maximize the backwashing efficiency, reduce the required backwash water (clean water); at the same time, there is no sand loss phenomenon during backwashing. The backwashing time of one standard filter tank is 3 minutes. After the backwashing is finished, the loss of the pressure head inside the standard filter tank is reduced to a reasonable range, the constant pressure device gives a recovery signal, the hydraulic valve is restored to the filtering state, and the the next standard filter tank is ready to enter the backwashing state. The system’s backwashing can also be controlled by time, and the default backwashing time is 4 hours, user can adjust the time according to the working conditions. Dual system control is regardless of primary and secondary, which system first come first execution.

Filtration status:
The shallow sand filter is composed of several filter tanks in parallel. When the system is in the filtering state, the unfiltered water is uniformly distributed by the unique self-developed water distributor, and then the water passes through the packing layer (refined homogeneous quartz sand) in the filter tank in a laminar flow state. When water flows through the packing layer, impurities are trapped in the packing layer. A plurality of evenly distributed water collectors at the bottom of the filter will evenly collect the filtered water and lead it out of the filter. Advection filtration can still achieve better filtering effect at high flow rate.
