This nanofiltration membrane, operating very efficiently at lower pressures, also removes all particles greater than 0.001 microns, resulting in high-quality injection water free of silica and bacteria, thereby ensuring continued injection rates reflective of initial reservoir conditions.
If the sulfate in the oil reservoir is not effectively removed, high concentrations of sulfate and sodium will calcify in the transportation pipelines of the oil reservoir and block the transportation pipelines.
