Fouling is the most common fault affecting the service life of RO membrane, mainly divided into particulate fouling, colloidal biological fouling and chemical scaling. Scaling can be controlled by adding scale inhibitors, while particulate and biological pollution can only be solved by optimizing the pretreatment system with UF membrane. Even if equipped with precision high-flow filter cartridge, tiny biological mucus in raw water will still accumulate on the surface of RO membrane to form biofilm without ultrafiltration interception. Installing PVDF UF membrane upstream can completely cut off the source of colloidal and microbial pollutants.
