The service life of the filter element is related to the following factors:
Water quality:
Water quality: If the water quality is good, there are relatively few impurities and pollutants in the water, the filter element will have a lighter filtering burden and a longer service life; on the contrary, if the water quality is poor, it contains a lot of impurities such as silt, rust, heavy metals, organic matter, etc., the filter element needs to filter more substances, it will reach saturation faster, and the service life will be shortened. For example, in some heavy industrial areas, the heavy metal content in tap water may be high, which will accelerate the loss of the filter element.

Water hardness: The hardness of water is mainly determined by the content of calcium and magnesium ions. The higher the hardness, the more substances such as calcium and magnesium salts in the water. These substances may form scale on the surface of the filter element, causing the filter element to be blocked and affecting its service life.
Frequency of use: The higher the frequency of use, the more times the filter element is filtered, the greater the filtering pressure and wear it will bear, and its service life will be shortened accordingly. For example, if a family has a large population and a large daily water consumption, or in some public places such as offices and schools, the water purifier is used frequently, and the replacement cycle of the filter element will be shorter than that of a small household water consumption.

Filter quality:
Material: High-quality filter materials have better filtering performance and durability. For example, using high-quality activated carbon as the filter material has stronger adsorption capacity, better filtering effect, and is not prone to decarbonization and other problems; while poor quality activated carbon may have poor adsorption effect and is easy to break, affecting the service life of the filter.
Production process: Advanced production technology can ensure the structural stability and filtering accuracy of the filter. For example, the filter element using hot melt welding technology has good sealing at the interface and is not prone to leakage; while the filter element with rough process may have problems such as loose structure and uneven filtering accuracy, resulting in reduced service life.
Filter type: Different types of filter elements have different service lives. For example, PP cotton filter elements are mainly used to filter large particles of impurities, with relatively low filtering accuracy and short service life, generally 3-6 months; activated carbon filter elements can absorb odors, pigments and some organic matter in water, and their service life is usually 6-12 months; RO reverse osmosis membrane filter elements have very high filtering accuracy and can remove most impurities and harmful substances in water, but their service life is relatively short, generally 1-3 years.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance of the filter element, such as cleaning and disinfection, can extend the service life of the filter element. If the filter element is not cleaned for a long time, a large amount of impurities and dirt will accumulate on the surface of the filter element, which will not only affect the filtering effect, but also accelerate the aging and damage of the filter element.
Equipment installation and use environment:
Is the installation correct: Correct installation is the prerequisite for ensuring the normal operation of the filter element. If the filter element is not installed firmly and the seal is not tight, it may cause unfiltered water to pass directly through the filter element, or the filter element may be subjected to additional pressure and wear, affecting the service life.
Temperature and humidity of the use environment: In a high temperature and high humidity environment, the material of the filter element may age, deform, and affect its filtering performance and service life. For example, in some humid southern regions, if the water purifier is in a humid environment for a long time, the filter element is prone to breed bacteria and mold, shortening its service life.
