Stainless Steel Cartridge Filter Practice in Industrial Water Treatment

Industrial water treatment places stringent requirements on filtration systems for high flow rates, low maintenance, long-term stable operation and intelligent management. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of environmental standards and diversification of process requirements, traditional materials are facing more and more limitations. In contrast, stainless steel cartridge filters have become an important part of high-end industrial water treatment systems due to their excellent physical and chemical stability and structural optimisation design.

Product Principle:
The shell of stainless steel cartridge filter is made of high quality stainless steel; the filter element is made of formed polypropylene melt-blown fiber. The stock solution will get through the filter material under pressure, any impurity, precipitate, suspended matter and bacteria would be removed.

The microstructure of stainless steel materials (e.g. 304, 316) and its surface passivation treatment determine the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of the housing. By optimising the pickling and electropolishing process, the surface finish can be significantly improved, reducing the risk of secondary contamination. In addition, the new stainless steel material further balances the corrosion resistance and impact resistance, providing a reliable guarantee for stable operation under high concentrations of acid and alkali media.

In a large-scale cogeneration project, the use of stainless steel cartridge filters as pre-treatment devices effectively reduces the risk of contamination of subsequent reverse osmosis membrane components. Data show that the overall energy consumption of the system before and after optimisation is reduced, and the replacement cycle of the membrane module is extended. In the field of chemical water treatment, the actual operation data proved that the stainless steel cartridge maintains excellent filtration performance under highly corrosive media, and no structural failure occurred.
