Equipment shutdown and preparation work
Safety shutdown
Before replacing the membrane assembly, it is necessary to ensure that the ultrafiltration equipment has been safely shut down. According to the operating procedures, close the water inlet valve, water outlet valve, power supply, etc. of the equipment, and drain the liquid in the equipment. If there is residual pressure in the equipment, the pressure relief operation should be performed first to prevent accidents during the replacement process.
Cleaning work
Clean the surrounding environment of the equipment and the pipes and accessories connected to the membrane assembly. Remove dust, dirt and debris on the surface of the equipment to prevent these impurities from entering the new membrane assembly or the inside of the equipment during the replacement process, affecting the subsequent operation of the equipment.
Tool and material preparation
Prepare the tools required to replace the membrane assembly, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pipe clamps, etc., and ensure that the tools are intact and applicable. At the same time, prepare new membrane assemblies, sealing gaskets, O-rings and other materials. The new membrane assembly must ensure that the model is correct and the quality is qualified, and the sealing material must match the specifications of the equipment.

Removal of membrane assembly
Marking and recording
Before removing the old membrane assembly, mark the connection position of the membrane assembly, the direction of the pipeline, etc. At the same time, record the installation order, model, serial number and other information of the membrane assembly, which will help to assemble the new membrane assembly accurately when installing it.
Pipeline disassembly
Carefully disassemble the water inlet pipe, water outlet pipe, backwash pipe and other pipes connected to the membrane assembly. During the disassembly process, pay attention to protecting the pipe interface to avoid damage. If there is sealant or sealing tape at the pipe interface, clean it up so that new sealing materials can be installed later.
Membrane assembly removal
According to the structure of the equipment, use a suitable method to remove the old membrane assembly. For some large ultrafiltration equipment, it may be necessary to use lifting equipment to remove the heavier membrane assembly. During the removal process, avoid unnecessary collision or damage to the membrane assembly, especially for hollow fiber membrane assemblies, to prevent the membrane filament from breaking.

Installation of new membrane assembly
Inspection and pretreatment
Before installing the new membrane assembly, check the new membrane assembly. Check whether the membrane assembly is damaged, whether the packaging is complete, and whether the interface of the membrane assembly is clean. If the new membrane assembly needs to be pretreated (such as some membrane assemblies need to be soaked in a specific protective liquid, and the protective liquid needs to be rinsed off before installation), follow the manufacturer’s requirements.
Installation order and position
According to the previously recorded installation order and marked position, accurately install the new membrane assembly into the equipment. Ensure that the membrane assembly is installed firmly and in the correct position to avoid tilting or inadequate installation. During the installation process, pay attention to the inlet and outlet directions of the membrane assembly to prevent reverse connection.
Seal installation
Install a new sealing gasket or O-ring at the location where the membrane assembly is connected to the pipeline. Ensure that the sealing material is installed correctly without distortion or damage. The quality of the seal installation is directly related to whether the equipment will leak during operation. Therefore, the sealing effect should be carefully checked. You can use appropriate tools (such as torque wrenches) to tighten the connection parts according to the specified torque.
Inspection and commissioning after installation
Appearance inspection
After the new membrane assembly is installed, check the overall appearance of the equipment. Check whether the connection between the membrane assembly and the pipeline is tight, whether the various components of the equipment are installed in place, and whether there are any missing tools or debris inside the equipment.
Pressure test
Before starting the machine for commissioning, perform a pressure test. Slowly fill the equipment with water and gradually pressurize it to check whether the equipment has any leakage. Observe the changes in pressure to ensure that the pressure is within the normal operating range of the equipment. If abnormal pressure or leakage is found, timely investigation and repair should be carried out.
Operation and debugging
Turn on the ultrafiltration equipment and gradually adjust the operating parameters, such as water inlet flow rate, operating pressure, etc., according to the operating procedures. Observe the operation of the new membrane assembly, including inlet and outlet pressures, filtration flow rate, water quality and other indicators. Perform initial performance monitoring of the new membrane assembly to ensure that it can operate normally and achieve the expected filtration effect. During the debugging process, if any problems are found, timely adjust the operating parameters or check the installation of the equipment.
